Looking back, it seems so arrogant to think only “we” have the truth. Any religion that thinks this is so delusional.

Bitter apostates
by Laika inwitnesses often go on about apostates being spiteful and bitter.
when you get cut off, shunned, or threatened with shunning just for the audacity of thinking differently, it's not surprising that getting angry at the witnesses is the reaction - it's like a self fulfilling prophecy.. but also, i recently posted an email from a 'friend' on this board who told me that everyone he'd spoken to about me said i had changed, become like another person.
it didn't occur to him that the day before i told my parents i'd quit the religion just 3 weeks ago, i met him for lunch, we had a good time and he didn't know anything was up.

What Is The Most Absurd JW Belief or View?
by minimus inthere are many silly doctines and viewpoints.. one of the strangest ones is the blood doctrine.. why anyone could logically accept this belief is beyond reason..

The blood issue is a biggie for me too. Learning the truth about all the blood and organ transplant changes started me on learning TTATT. When I was born there were complications and I needed a transfusion. My mom signed documents refusing me the life saving procedure. My non JW dad told the docs/nurses to lose the documents and to save my life.

The view or belief that if a family member leaves the “truth” you must shun them and have little to no contact with them.
I have to tread lightly with this wonderful teaching because of my mom and sister. Its been about 3 and a half years since I’ve seen them and Im making plans to fly to see them in the next couple months. My mom seems ok with it but my sister is a little apprehensive.
